Black American legacy art and jazz and literature
Operated by La Cousine Germaine
Overview
Discover the Left Bank differently in the footsteps of Black artists, writers and thinkers, who speak to each other on both sides of the Atlantic. From the Latin Quarter to Saint-Germain, an exploration to learn where and how Josephine Baker, James Baldwin, the artists of the Harlem Renaissance and the great jazz musicians, from Sidney Bechet to Louis Armstrong lived. The visit also makes it possible to evoke why Paris was seen as a "city of refuge", and to introduce the great French figures of the intellectual and political movements of decolonization and pan-Africanism
