Musée d'Orsay Rebels Passion Colour. A Private Guided Tour
Operated by Paris Museum Guide
Overview
My tour will take you to the origins of the artistic rebellions of 19th Century French Art. The French have always loved a rebel; there will be a few rule breakers to see on the way like Courbet, Manet, Monet & Cézanne. I’ll put into context the significance of the impressionists revolution for the art of its time, why it was first rejected by the French public and is now admired the world over. We start with the Salons of the 1840’s dominated by two opposing masters Delacroix & Ingres, then end with the individuality of two tempestuous friends Van Gogh & Gauguin. A private two hour tour of the Musée d'Orsay limited to 6 people, in English. We meet by the sculpture of the Rhino outside. Museum Tickets are NOT included in the price, they can be obtained at the orsay . fr website (16€). All children under 18 get in free with ID. I’m an Irish artist & specialist decorator. I’m also now, for the past 10 years, a Paris Museum Guide.
